A new low

A brief post this morning. I think we've sunk to a new low with Congressman Wilson's behavior last night. This is the level of petty "you-say-black-so-I'm-going-to-say-white" crap we're getting from the partisan politicians. And the fact that many Conservatives are coming out this morning and commending Wilson is the height of insanity.

I'm also loving the people who like to trot out the "there were no details" in the speech BS. Did you expect him to read you the entirety of the bill? Would you have tuned into that? If you say "yes" then YOU'RE the liar. If we know one thing about Americans, we know we have a short attention span. The language of the bill is available all over the place if you want to read it. Last night's speech wasn't supposed to be about going through the nuts and bolts. Seems we have a Congress we elect to do that. Yeah, I remember I learned that somewhere. I even voted for folks to represent me last election.

But we've got people on both sides of the aisle who aren't interested in representing us and making hard choices. They only represent themselves, and their priority is getting re-elected. We've become dominated by obstructionists, whose intentions are not to work toward solutions in the great American spirit of compromise and cooperation. Nope, they just want to make sure that THAT GUY doesn't succeed. Doesn't matter if the plan is good, bad or somewhere in the middle. They just cannot allow any plan HE supports to work.

It's all that simple. In fact, it's black and white. Read into that what you want.

I had such high hopes on Election Night and Inauguration Day. I guess I should have known the crazies would do everything they could to sabotage the dream.

I hope with all I am that President Obama is stronger than me. Because myself and a lot of others are pretty disheartened by it all.
